HandUp Expands in Detroit Backed by $100K Foundation Grant

Detroit was the very first city HandUp expanded to after launching in San Francisco. The Detroit community is incredible! The support we see from citizens to neighbors in need through our partners there is inspiring. All the more reasons why we're so excited and honored to receive a $100,000 grant in partnership with South Oakland Shelter. This grant is supported by the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan who gave $50,000 and matched by The McGregor Fund

These funds will enable more organizations across Detroit to take advantage of HandUp and ensure that Detroit locals in need of support will have access to our platform to meet their needs. That includes hiring local staff to help people access HandUp to matching campaigns for donors to double their impact. South Oakland Shelter will lead the charge, recruiting more social service agencies and their donors throughout the Metro Detroit area.

Thank you Detroit for your ongoing support. We're honored to be able to serve your community!
